The preservation of our forests and enrichment of the globe’s biodiversity are both central themes to sustainable development. In cooperation with national and local authorities, Danish consulting engineers work to conserve and restore inland freshwater ecosystems to promote the sustainable use of forests, develop conservation plans for differing ecosystems to integrate ecosystem and biodiversity values into national and local planning, to provide training and capacity building, and to work with national and local authorities to implement international laws and conventions.
PROJECT: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR PROGRAMMING EXERCISE OF THE CARIBBEAN REGIONAL PROGRAM – MARINE BIODIVERSITY
Oceans serve as the world’s largest source of protein, with more than 3 billion people depending on the oceans as their primary source of protein. Ramboll, in conjunction with the European Union, worked to address the degradation of the coastal areas of EU overseas territories in the Caribbean through the sustainable management and use of the marine and coastal environment. Ramboll’s actions include the development of integrated coastal zone management, including the protection and rehabilitation of marine and coastal geo-ecosystems.
